Exclusively yours

Imagine spending holidays in a rare and historic Florence home designed by Michelangelo, yet equipped with every modern convenience. Or, when the Caribbean calls, head off for a hillside villa in St. Barth's or go island-hopping aboard a private, 90-foot yacht. Such pleasures are effortlessly enjoyed by members of The Solstice Collection, which was born of a passion for luxury and style.

'When we acquire a home for our portfolio of residences we approach it with an art collector's mentality,' says Graham Kos, founder of The Solstice Collection. 'It is almost like finding a Renoir in someone's basement and then being able to share it with our members.' In Paris, for example, an 18th century pied-ˆ-terre awaits in the heart of Ile Saint-Louis, just steps from world-class shopping, inspired cuisine and art galleries galore.

With a distinct emphasis on European properties, an established track record and an international membership, The Solstice Collection occupies a unique niche in the residence club market. In addition to maintaining a low member-to-residence ratio, The Solstice Collection provides members virtually unlimited access to a portfolio of luxurious properties with an average value of Û5 million. One of the club's most significant features is its low occupancy rate - just over 40% - giving members more access on a last-minute basis.

At home on the water
Beyond the expanding portfolio of residences - the most recent addition is an exclusive ski-in, ski-out residence in Verbier, Switzerland - members can also enjoy privileges aboard a luxurious 90-foot yacht, Solstice I, for touring the Caribbean in winter, the Bahamas in spring and fall, and New England's coast in summer. Plans are also underway for a second luxury yacht to be moored in the Mediterranean for summer cruising.

'By offering well-chosen homes, along with luxury yachts, we embrace quality of experience, not the volume of vacation destinations,' says Kos. 'Our residences are designed to give a genuine sense of home to a group of members who appreciate and understand that we aren't building a club for the masses.'

Top destinations
The Solstice Collection currently offers 11 residences in premier destinations, including:

  • Florence, Italy: Villa Dolce, perfectly situated in the Piazza Della Signoria, is one of the city's most prized architectural treasures. Featuring 20-foot ceilings with 17th century frescoes in the main living and dining areas, it sits just steps from the Palazzo Vecchio and the Uffizi Gallery.
  • Paris: Beau Rivage, a 350-year-old immaculately restored pied-ˆ-terre, is one of the city's most favoured addresses and features a grand master suite that occupies the entire second floor.
  • St. Barth's: L'Etoile du Berger, a hillside estate with three separate bungalows, offers a magnificent view of the Caribbean.

Each Solstice property is furnished with the finest antiques and collectibles, along with abundant high-tech features, including flat-screen televisions and computers with high-speed internet connections.
